Hydraulic breakers are mainly used in mining, crushing, secondary crushing, metallurgy, road engineering, old buildings, etc. The correct use of hydraulic breakers can greatly improve work efficiency. Wrong use not only fails to exert the full power of hydraulic breakers, but also Greatly damages the service life of hydraulic breakers and excavators, causes project delays, and damages benefits. Today I will share with you how to properly use and maintain the breaker.
In order to maintain the service life of the hydraulic breaker, several operation methods are prohibited
1. Tilt work
When the hammer is in operation, the drill rod should form a 90° right angle with the ground before operation. Tilting is prohibited to avoid straining the cylinder or damaging the drill rod and piston.
2.Do not hit from the edge of the hit.
When the hit object is large or hard, don’t hit it directly. Choose the edge part to break it, which will complete the job more efficiently.
3.Keep hitting the same position
The hydraulic breaker hits the object continuously within one minute. If it fails to break, replace the hitting point immediately, otherwise the drill rod and other accessories will be damaged
4.Use a hydraulic breaker to pry and sweep stones and other objects.
This operation will cause the drill rod to break, the outer casing and the cylinder body to wear out abnormally, and shorten the service life of the hydraulic breaker.
5.Swing the hydraulic breaker back and forth.
It is forbidden to swing the hydraulic breaker back and forth when the drill rod is inserted into the stone. When used as a prying rod, it will cause abrasion and break the drill rod in severe cases.
6. It is forbidden to “pecking” by lowering the boom, which will cause a huge impact load and cause damage due to overload.
7.Carry out crushing operations in water or muddy ground.
Except the drill rod, the hydraulic breaker must not be immersed in water or mud except for the drill rod. If the piston and other related parts accumulate soil, the service life of the hydraulic breaker will be shortened.
The correct storage method of hydraulic breakers
When your hydraulic breaker has not been used for a long time, follow the steps below to store it:
1. Plug the pipeline interface;
2. Remember to release all nitrogen in the nitrogen chamber;
3. Remove the drill rod;
4. Use a hammer to knock the piston back to the back position; add more grease to the front head of the piston;
5. Place it in a room with a suitable temperature, or place it on a sleeper and cover it with a tarp to prevent rain.
